Forgetfulness is part of normal aging. However, in some elderly patients, the process of aging appears to show accelerated cognitive impairment. These patients may show impairment in their daily functions, and may be suffering from Dementia. The commonest types are Alzheimer's Dementia and Vascular Dementia.
